On October 12th 2017, the Privy Council considered APM’s application for a Royal Charter and issued an Order of Grant. This decision triggered a number of procedural steps, including the activation of a new chartered organisation and creation of a register of Chartered Project Professionals.
As part of this process, APM as a Chartered organisation was required to conduct an open and public consultation on aspects of the proposed Chartered designation to launch the register, including criteria for admission to the register. Prior to this public consultation they wanted to speak to key stakeholders and members to inform the preparation for a potential option for the public consultation.
Our approach and methodology
Shift were commissioned to carry out this stakeholder engagement project, moderating four round tables to gather feedback from various groups in the APM community. Discussion guides were carefully designed to ensure participants were not overwhelmed with the amount of complex (yet vital) information they needed to process during the round table meetings.
Delivering results and value to our client
As a result of the groups and stakeholder feedback, Shift made recommendations to help APM to prepare an option for public consultation that had taken into account the opinions of representatives from different elements of the APM community.
